Deeper Than The Skin Opening Reception

Sunday, October 9, 2022, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

May The Door Be Open- Rae Gilson

This year’s theme is “Deeper Than The Skin,” is inspired by a lyric from Greg Greenway and Reggie Harris’ musical presentation about race relations that they will perform in conjunction with the exhibit on Sunday, October 9 at 2:00pm. The guest juror is Paula Bernay, co-owner and director of Bernay Fine Art in Great Barrington, MA.

“This theme provided the opportunity for artists to express themselves in a meaningful way,” says Bernay. “The quality of the submissions was excellent and the styles very unique. The submissions included a variety of visual arts including tapestry, photography, drawing, and painting.”

First, Second & Third prizes will be awarded. There will also be a “People’s Choice” award presented at the conclusion of the show.

The artists to be featured in the Juried Regional Art Exhibit include Susan Anthony (Old Chatham, NY), Christine Averill (Albany, NY), Jennifer Clark (Great Barrington, NY), Mary Davidson (South Egremont, MA), Jeffrey DeLisle (Chatham, NY), Melissa Forbes (Philmont, NY), Rae Gilson (New Lebanon, NY), Ron Harrington (Hillsdale, NY), Kate Kennedy (Tivoli, NY), David Lesako (Ghent, NY), Amy Macris (Rensselaer, NY), Janet McDermott (Spencertown, NY), Alice McGowan (South Egremont, MA), Edward Mills (Clinton Corners, NY), Nancy O’Hara (Germantown, NY), Marilyn Orner (South Egremont, MA), Andrew Pellettieri (Kinderhook, NY), Karen Pierino (Chatham, NY), Lee Rogers (Great Barrington, MA), Joel Schiller (Chatham, NY), DeeAnn Veeder (Spencertown, NY), Steven Wildermuth (Ghent, NY), and Shannon Wilson (Voorheesville, NY).
