Current and Upcoming Events
Our signature annual events are held each year to raise vital funds for the Academy’s program and operating budgets. The events are organized and staffed primarily by volunteers.
Due to the pandemic, we had to cancel the 2020 Hidden Gardens, one of three major annual fundraising events the Academy hosts. For 2021, we are planning an alternative version of this event with an online Garden Lecture Series from March through September as well as an in-person garden tour of private gardens in our area to take place in late summer on Saturday, August 28. Other details and events are still in development, so stay tuned for more information as the garden season approaches.
Festival of Books
Do not take the Festival of Books off your calendar! This beloved annual fundraiser is still on our schedule this Labor Day weekend, though in a slightly different form. We’ll be virtual this year, selling books and hosting distinguished authors – all online. And for all the Cookbook Café fans, please note: our famous no-alarm vegetarian chili will return next year! Stay tuned for further information, as our program develops.
Please note: Unfortunately, we are not able to accept book donations this year. Hang on to them, though. Your gently used books will be welcome again next year!
Held annually, this mid-winter moveable feast is one of our oldest and most loved events. The evening begins with festive drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the Academy, guests then move on to one of more than a dozen intimate dinners hosted by friends of the Academy. It’s the perfect antidote to winter and a great way to support Spencertown Academy Arts Center. More details.
