“LIKE SWIMMING IN AIR” TAI CHI FOR BEGINNERS

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art recognized for its benefits to strength, endurance, and balance. Professor Cheng Man-Ch’ing, who brought the tai chi form to the US in the early 1960s, described its fluid and controlled movements as “swimming in air” and its emphasis on relaxation as inspiring meditative calm in body and mind.
In this 10-session class, taught by Fran Snyder & Marilyn Wegh, you will learn the beginning movements and postures of the professor’s Yang style short form. The pace of the class is slow and tranquil, demonstrations are clear and easy to follow. Class is open to those who are new to tai chi or want to refresh their skills.
Class size is capped at 12 persons. If you’re new to tai chi and uncertain about committing for 10 weeks, be our guest for the 1st session. If you wish to continue, you can register and pay for the full Beginner 1 class after your introductory taste of tai chi. Students who miss a class are invited to work privately with Fran and Marilyn.
Fran Snyder is on the faculty and is president of the board of directors of the New York School of Tai Chi Chuan, director of Upstate NY School of Tai Chi, and a certified tai chi instructor. Marilyn Wegh recently completed her studies for teaching Beginners 1.
