Uel Wade Music Scholarship Competition
Sunday, May 21, 2017
$10
The Uel Wade Music Scholarship for high school students will present six supremely talented young musicians as finalists in the Concert/Competition at the Spencertown Academy Arts Center. Each will play 12-13 minutes of music. The admission fee of $10 goes directly into the fund, and up to $10,000 will be awarded. The instruments represented are: flute, alto sax, violin, cello, piano, and marimba/xylophone. They will be adjudicated by a panel of professional musicians, who will make their decisions immediately after the concert.
While they deliberate, a former prizewinner will entertain the audience with a short piano program, and the awards will be announced after that. A reception will follow.
