Still Life: Flowers, Fruits & Foods in Repose
Saturday, September 4, 2021, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This year’s botanical show features scenes of tabletops and other settings where flowers, fruits and food items provide glimpses into daily life that can be restful, playful or downright intriguing! Seven artists with very distinct styles will present their visions of peaceful—and sometimes challenging—still-life renderings.
Experience the interplay of vegetable cuttings and peelings; the lighthearted exchange among flowers and vases; the calm juxtaposition of grapefruit halves; the serenity of a single fish awaiting preparation; the majesty of a pillow-enthroned squash; the cradling of lemons within a floe-blue plate; and, an inviting tea-time with a muffin and oranges.
Featuring the work of regional artists: Julie Love Edmonds, Mary Beth Eldridge, Ann Getsinger, Ellen Joffe-Halpern, Alice McGowan, Scott Taylor and Terry Wise.
Spend some time with Scott Taylor in his studio, in this interview with co-curators Norma Cohen and Moira O’Grady, on YouTube, and with Ann Getsinger, part of our Artist at Home Series, produced by Curatorial Committee member, Steve Dietemann.
Gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5pm and Fridays by appointment. On Saturday August 28, special Hidden Gardens gallery hours are from 9:00am-5:00pm.
