Jovino Santos Neto is a lyrical, expressive, brilliantly accomplished pianist first mentored in the creative cauldron of Brazilian jazz great, Hermeto Pasocoal’s group, where he stayed 15 years. For the Spencertown Academy’s Roots & Shoots series, he’s prepared a special treat, walking us through a pocket history of Brazilian music, from its great composers, including Tom Jobim and Hermeto, to his own performances which have been nominated for a full 3 Latin Jazz Grammys.
