This class, taught by Fran Snyder, uses Tai Chi movements and postures as practical tools for building leg strength and cultivating balance. Strength and balance together increase our sense of being connected to the ground. In the six weeks of class, students will learn to feel the difference between balanced and unbalanced, tensed and relaxed, unsteady and sure-footed. Demonstrations are clear and easy to follow. Movements are practiced at a slow and even speed that promotes relaxation and calmness. This class is for anyone wanting to improve their balance. The goal is to experience everyday movement with a greater sense of confidence and security.
Maximum participation is capped at 15 persons, allowing individual attention for each student.
Fran Snyder serves as president of the board of directors of the New York School of Tai Chi Chuan. She’s a Tai Chi Foundation certified tai chi instructor and teaches in New York City and in the Chatham area.
