Amber Chand: Tales of the Boatwoman

Sunday, March 8, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

$15 – $20
Tales of the Boatwoman - Amber Chand

This storytelling performance offers an evocative journey into the world of Chand’s ancestors in India and Africa. She will read excerpts from her forthcoming book, “Tales of the Boatwoman,” which blends ancestral stories, creative memoir, and wisdom teachings.

“Tales of the Boatwoman” audience members will discover why a passionate elopement turned into an unhappy betrayal; why a black-and-white photograph would change the destiny of a family; and how an ancient Vedic mantra accompanied a young woman on her voyage across the seas.

Chand is an inspirational speaker and storyteller, life coach and mentor, author, artist, and global entrepreneur. As founder of the Women’s Peace Collection and co-founder of Eziba (both online companies with an innovative humanitarian missions), she worked with women artisans rebuilding their lives in the shadows of war, genocide, and civil strife in Afghanistan, Rwanda, Darfur, Cambodia, and Ethiopia—by offering them an opportunity to sell their products to an international audience. Baypath University inducted her into its Business Women’s Hall of Fame.
