Lincoln Mayorga and Sheri Bauer-Mayorga

Join Lincoln Mayorga, Sheri Bauer-Mayorga, and friends in a celebration of American songwriter and composer, Cole Porter to raise funds to purchase instruments to benefit children in the Hudson City School District. The school has not purchased new instruments for the band in 40 years. Every year there are 30-40 children in the intermediate school (grades 3-6) that want to be part of the orchestra but cannot due to lack of instruments. 100% of the ticket purchase and any additional donations will be used to purchase these instruments. Order tickets for the 5:00pm performance.

Cole Porter, who, unlike his contemporaries, wrote both lyrics and music, is responsible for standards like “Another Op’nin’, Another Show,” “You’re the Top,” “Love For Sale,” “Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye,” “It’s De-Lovely” and “Don’t Fence Me In.” Porter, a master wordsmith also wrote Gilbert & Sullivan-influenced songs. That seldom heard side of Cole Porter, the American twist on G & S, will be dished up with songs, “I’ve A Shooting Box In Scotland,” and “Kling-Kling Bird on the Divi-Divi Tree.”

Lincoln Mayorga, an internationally recognized pianist, composer, arranger and recording artist, known for his brilliant interpretations of the great American songbook, will be joined by his wife, vocalist and pianist Sheri Bauer-Mayorga, and bassist Otto Gardner. Vocalists Jean Leonard and Derek Stannard, will lead us through duos and solos both sultry and silly in grand Cole Porter style. The program will masterfully guided tour by MC Cheryl K. Masterson from 90.7FM¬WGXC’s “Jazz Disturbance.”

In addition to offering selections from Porter’s considerable catalog of hits, the Mayorgas will play an original two piano arrangement of Porter’s 1923 one-act ballet sketch, “Within the Quota.”
