Curated by artist Linda Horn of Spencertown, the exhibit presents contemplative works referring to Arcadia, an imaginary paradise immortalized by noted artists throughout the ages. It asks the question, “Where are we now in relation to the idyllic Arcadia and its model of harmony with nature?” On view will be sculptures, paintings, and digital art by Ellen Lanyon of New York City, Irene Siegel of Chicago, David Shaw of Brooklyn, and Marcella Anna Stasa of Boston.
The exhibit is timed to coincide with the Academy’s fourth annual Hidden Gardens Tour which takes place on Saturday, July 7. This year’s theme, Gardening in the Landscape brings together gardeners and environmentalists focusing on harmony with nature.
